Samsung says the monitors will fold in 2015

Samsung says the monitors will fold in 2015

The future of smartphones is undergoing a revolution, evidenced by the arrival of curved or flexible displays. However, this is far from a conclusion. If one believes Samsung , the next generation of screens in 2015 will actually ... foldable.
Speaking at the Analyst Day Samsung, the company announced that it would provide fully foldable screens for the general public in 2015.
This type of futuristic display is apparently implemented in typical devices like phones and tablets, as well as in the new wave of mobile technology, such as the Galaxy Gear.
In this game, Samsung has generally kept its promises. However, the point is to see a folding technology as presented in the video, it is presumptuous. Anyway, so get used to the idea on the folding screens are indeed on the launch pad.

Samsung smartphones with 4K screens in 2015?

Samsung smartphones with 4K screens in 2015?

Samsung really wants to stand as a pioneer in the field of mobile innovation. Moreover, after referring to the arrival of smartphones equipped with folding screens in 2015, it is now possible to provide the public with smartphones screens 4K .
You thought the 441 ppi screen Galaxy S4 had enough bluff anyone? Review your standard Samsung having slipped there is little he would probably be able to offer shortly WQHD screens 5 "deploying some 560 ppi, a resolution of 2560 × 1440 pixels. In sum, there may be in the screen next high-end smartphone manufacturer as many pixels as the screen of Apple's latest MacBook Pro (3,600,000 against 4,000,000)!
And it does not stop there: Samsung has also stated at the Analyst Day 2013 it should logically provide its mobile 4K screens in 2015. Therefore, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Note 5 would be entitled to two times the resolutions 1080p resolutions underway.
If you look closer, it's fun to see the speed at which the screen resolutions of smartphones, tablets and other phablets have evolved in recent years. As a reminder, at its outlet in the spring of 2011, the Galaxy S2 offered a "small" 4 "screen, along with a resolution of 480 × 800 pixels!

Android 4.3 available for the Galaxy S3 GT-I9300

Android 4.3 available for the Galaxy S3 GT-I9300

It is not unusual that something new OS experience leak even before their release. This is what happened to the trial version (but already well advanced) 4.3 of Android Jelly Bean current October. And although this version is not finalized , it seems relatively stable.
Moreover, there is an increased stability and overall system performance. In addition, some previous bugs have been addressed and repaired.
The stakes are high for this new version, when we know that the previous (Android 4.2) is completely gone under the noses of S3 users. However, it seems that it meets the expectations of users, especially owners of Galaxy Note 3 and S4 by a phase interface with these devices.
You can download this update, but it is necessary to remember, take the trouble to save all your upstream content, as you know, the responsibility for handling bad is your responsibility, and you always fall in this kind of position.
So, ready to take the leap?

Camera Galaxy Note 3 vs. Camera Nexus 5

First, it should be remembered that the Galaxy Note 3 provides a main camera of 13 MP which lacks image stabilization, but rather a "smart stabilizer" as mentioned Samsung. For its part, the Nexus has a 5 BSI sensor type 8 MP with OIS stabilizer. The two sensors of the camera are engineered by Sony.

Nexus vs Galaxy Note 3 5 081 101
The images were taken by the Galaxy Note 3 are on the left of the screen, and the Nexus 5 right to enlarge the images, simply click on it.
On this first photo, you can immediately see that the colors of pictures taken by the Nexus 5 are warmer than those taken by the Galaxy Note 3, and much more striking details despite the fact that the Nexus has only 5 8 MP. In reality, this is due to OIS stabilizer that is missing on the Galaxy Note 3.
Nexus vs Galaxy Note 3 5 081 102
Then you can also see that the colors are much more natural on the Nexus 5 compared to the Galaxy Note 3, when you activate the flash. However, the Galaxy Note 3 provides a little more detail than the Nexus 5. This is due to the 13 MP that are present on the Galaxy Note 3.
Nexus vs Galaxy Note 3 5 081 103
Finally, when one is in and we not use flash, you can also see that the Nexus 5 offers better rendered in color compared to the Galaxy Note 3. For its part, the Galaxy Note 3 provides more clarity to the image and details.
Nexus vs Galaxy Note 3 5 081 104
Anyway, we can see that the sensor 8MP Nexus 5 is much improved compared to that of the Nexus 4, I would even say that it has nothing to envy to the Galaxy Note 3 with its sensor 13 MP. If you are asked to choose which of these two smartphones you choose?

First grip of the LG G Flex

The LG G Flex is as the first smartphone to be really flexible (or almost). Yes I know, the Galaxy Round came out before him, but as you will see in the video below, the LG G Flex is different from the Galaxy Round and its curvature is much larger than the Samsung Smartphone. To help you better understand my statements, I've found you a video about the flexibility of the G Flex.
As indicated in the tester TheVerge, except that the device is curved, we immediately notice that its size is imposing its top 6 inches. Indeed, LG stated that the curvature of the screen made watching a lot more "immersive" film, but watching the video above, I am more inclined to say that this is mainly due to the large size of most Smartphone that offers a resolution of 720p HD. In reality, TheVerge indicates that newspaper, the curved design of the smartphone does not have a huge impact (positively or negatively) on the display of the screen. A screen that despite the low resolution, is still very good.
Regarding ergonomics, it is almost impossible to use the smartphone with one hand, unlike the Galaxy Round which, in turn, brings the two sides of the screen so that your thumb can reach the other edge of the screen, but this is another story. Furthermore, the shape of the LG G Flex does not allow it to be slipped easily into a front pocket.
lg g flex test ver07
In reality it does not really surprise me because no device 6 inches can slip comfortably into the front pocket of jeans, but I thought that it is curved will make a little less imposing. However, we note that the LG G Flex can still slip into the back pocket of trousers, if not to make a long walk with.
Anyway, apart from the particular shape of the screen and flexible battery, LG G Flex does not always present as a revolutionary smartphone, but more like a taste of what could have giants moment in the near future. Moreover, the LG G Flex as the Samsung Galaxy Round are considered prototypes that are sold in limited quantities. Marketing that will start on November 12 in Korea for the LG G Flex.

Samsung is working on its own CPU core and on a screen 560 dpi 2014

Samsung has confirmed that he is actually working on cores for its upcoming processors. This means that future processors Samsung will rely more on the ARM Cortex designed by (as is the case in the current Exynos processor), but the Korean company will use internal CPU, as does also Qualcomm Krait chips with Scorpio or are in the Snapdragon SoC, or Apple in its A7 processor chips with Swift and Cyclone. In other words, Samsung will gradually abandon Qualcomm to focus on its own processors.
We also know that Samsung plans to launch the terminal equipped with an AMOLED screen with a pixel density of up to 560 pixels per inch next year. In addition, the South Korean giant says it will also launch the first smartphone screen 4k from 2015.

You are probably skeptical about why Samsung disclose all the information. In reality, there is not anything, because it appears that investors are more or less afraid of the future of the firm. Indeed, as the smartphone market gradually coming to a saturation level (which is already the case in Korea), we note that there is a slowdown in terms of innovation in the industry Smartphones upmarket. Therefore, it is quite normal that Samsung demonstrates how he is willing to innovate in this market in order to reassure investors.

Finally, we can say that Samsung is making every effort to keep its position as world's number one seller of smartphones. It is also worth noting that most of these materials to come, Samsung says it holds a patent on the three in terms of using a flexible screen. We can therefore expect that the firm is part of the first to offer the first real devices using this technology in the near future.

Install the application Galaxy Note 3 Experience on your Smartphone

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Experience or application that allows you to mount virtually interface Galaxy Note 3 on another device to test the functionality of this phablette is now available on Google Play Store. This demonstration application highlights the features associated with the S Pen Galaxy Note 3 as the Air Command Window Pen, Action Memo or the Finder S among others.
It should be noted that this is by no means an application or launcher that will install the functions of the Galaxy Note 3 on your Android smartphone, but rather a kind of simulation that will show you what you can make with the S Pen.
Galaxy Note 3 experience 8511
To work, the application needs a terminal that operates at least Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, with a processor running at 1.4 GHz or higher and a screen with a Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels . Therefore, we tested the application on a Galaxy S4 and actually, it works very well. Moreover, it is possible to choose the language you want to use in the simulation.
I remind you that the Galaxy Note 2 will soon have its update to Android 4.3, given that the Galaxy S3 is out with him has already received this update. An update to be deployed towards the end of the month of November for the Galaxy Note 2, in order to make it also compatible with Samsung Galaxy Gear.

Testing the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014

We really liked the original Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, but the poor resolution was detrimental to all and slippery hull made it difficult to hold and keep it clean. And back then it was not shiny plastic trèsclasse either. The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 in 2014 has improved all that bothered us in the previous edition and has become one of our favorite Android tablets 10 inches. All this has a price against the Note 10.1 in 2014 cost about 50 euros more than the previous model.
If you want to compare the prices of different shops that offer the Galaxy Note 10.1 in 2014, we offer a look at this table:

Some notable improvements over the previous version
Among the nice improvements include new shell faux leather (like the Galaxy Note 3) which is available in white or black, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, infrared sensor (IR Blaster) and Samsung WatchOn to control the TV distance, 2MP front camera and 8MP rear camera with LED flash and HDR.
The usual overlay Samsung Touchwiz, is part and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. You will also find the army of software which includes Samsung Multi Window, Air View, S Voice, KNOX security, S Translator, S Note and application store, music and videos from Samsung.
All standard Google applications are also there like Gmail, Chrome and old webkit browser, Maps, Google Play Store, Google Play Apps and Photo Gallery. Although the tablet uses Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, Samsung has removed the multi-user support. If you intend to create a user account for your child or your guests, you unfortunately can not do it. Maybe an update will do that.
Design and Ergonomics
We have many accused Samsung of using too shiny plastic and faux finishes aluminum (this gives the impression that it is aluminum, but it is not). There is always a healthy dose of fake aluminum (poorly imitated) in the corners, but the rest is much improved. As with the Android smartphone Samsung Galaxy Note 3 , Samsung has chosen a back cover imitation leather (black or white), complemented by leather corners also imitation. this may sound like bad taste, but the result is pleasant, especially in black.
test galaxy note 10.1 2014 112001
The tablet has a more slippery surface and is no longer in love with fingerprints unlike the first version of the Galaxy Tab 10.1. The design is actually managed. Maybe not as pleasant and modern than the Sony Xperia Tablet Z, but Samsung tablet is comfortable to hold and carry. Since the back is made of injection molded plastic, it will not harm themselves like real leather.
The buttons are well laid out with micro USB 2.0 port (not 3.0 as the Galaxy Note 3) below, the volume buttons and plug top and a microSD card slot Compatible with SDXC cards under a hatch on side. The S Pen stylus is in a location (rather well done) on the right side so you do not lose it.
test galaxy note 10.1 2014 112002test galaxy note 10.1 2014 112003
test galaxy note 10.1 2014 112004
The Galaxy Note 10.1 in 2014 looks much more compact, and unlike some tablets 10 inches, it can stand for long periods without losing comfort. It is really compact and easy to pick up, and the speakers have been strategically placed on the sides. They are practically on top of the tablet (in landscape mode), so your hands do not block.
Screen
The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 in 2014 has a beautiful display of 2560 x 1600 pixels for both bright and colorful with good contrast. This is not a Super AMOLED screen (they are not available at this resolution for such a large screen), so the colors are more natural. The colors are nice and vibrant than the Nexus 10 (also manufactured by Samsung), and the screen is a serious competitor to that of the Nexus 7 2013. This is one of the best screen tablets available in the market in terms of color, brightness and contrast. It fits perfectly the road in front of the Retina display of the iPad.
Samsung offers a few options to adjust colors, from which you can choose the automatic mode (this mode detects if you watch a video, read a book or watch photos and adjusts the colors accordingly). There is a play mode that softens the screen to give it a pink color that some consider more restful to the eyes. And if you prefer well-whites, you can get when the brightness is greater than 70%. As usual with tablets and smartphones from Samsung , the brightness setting in automatic mode is incredibly low, so if I were you, I règlerais brightness manually.
S Pen: Baby by artists and those who take notes
It would not be a Galaxy Note if it was not with an S Pen, the new Galaxy Tab 10.1 in 2014 therefore has a S Pen using Wacom technology. It is possible to use the other Galaxy Note stylus and tablet also works with Wacom pens for Tablet PC.
test galaxy note 10.1 2014 112007
The S Pen is an accurate digital pen, not to be confused with some large capacitive stylus and unspecified. It supports 1000 levels of sensitivity that makes writing much more natural and makes it excellent for drawing and painting. Samsung includes its S Note application has evolved. This allows you to take notes by hand, automatically recognizes the formulas and you can scribble.
test galaxy note 10.1 2014 112006
If you are an artist and wish to draw and paint more seriously, we recommend the Autodesk Sketchbook Pro and Painter Infinite applications. The Galaxy Tab 10.1 has no competition in the Android universe, if you want a digital pen, you must choose the rating. Lenovo and HTC have tried the digital pen using the N-Trig competing technology, but these models are not sold for a long time. Windows 8 tablets are the only alternative if you want an N-Trig digitizer pen.

Performance and power
As always, the processor and graphics chip are becoming faster as on virtually every new product from Samsung. Although we have not found the Galaxy Note 10.1 slow moose, here we have a quad-core Exynos 5420 Octa, clocked at 1.9GHz, faster, and a graphics chip MALI T-628. Despite the name "Octa", the processor does not use 8 cores at once. Instead, it uses quad-core 1.9GHz ARM quad-core 1.3GHz A15 and A7.
test galaxy note 10.1 2014 112009 Antutu
Test conducted in AnTuTu, the higher the number, the better it is.
The fastest cores are used for the most demanding tasks, while the A7 four cores is used for tasks requiring fewer resources. The operation is similar to the architecture of the companion Tegra 3 and Tegra 4. Note that the 4G LTE version will use the quad-core Snapdragon 800, which is comparable in terms of performance or even slightly higher.
Living memory and internal storage
When you first start, an update intended to remove some bugs and improve the performance has been made. Apparently, it worked well because the tablet has proved responsive, without slowdowns usually generated by the Touchwiz overlay, delays that were present on some previous Samsung Galaxy products. The fact that the Galaxy Note 10.1 Edition 2014 has 3 GB of RAM (like the Galaxy Note 3) certainly helps.
Currently, smartphones and high-end Android tablets have 2 GB of RAM, and 1GB was the norm there less than a year, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 in 2014 so more than enough RAM to enable to use all Samsung and other intensive applications (or very intensive) software.
The Galaxy Note 10.1 in 2014 is available in 16 and 32GB, and has a microSD slot SDXC if you ever need to expand the storage capacity. Although Android 4.x has removed the ability to install applications on the SD card, Samsung modified the operating system to provide this functionality.
Most applications do not take up so much room that much, but games like NOVA advanced Bard's Tale 3 and take 2 or 3 GB easily. It is at this point that you may be tempted to put applications on the microSD card. The tablet also supports USB host, so you can use USB keyboards, mice, joysticks jeus and USB (NTFS is not supported hard drives unless you rootez your device and add support for this system file). You will need a micro USB to USB OTG adapter to use this feature.
Camera
The 8MP camera with LED flash and HDR is better than average for a tablet. It is equivalent to that of a high-end smartphone like the Samsung Galaxy S3, so it will not compete with the Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung Galaxy Note 3, LG G2 or iPhone 5s. Nevertheless, the camera takes pictures pleasant and 1080p videos quite correct, but the photos are taken in bright outdoor medium and the noise is clearly visible in low light conditions.
Overall, the camera is working properly, if you do not mind waving a 10-inch tablet to take pictures and capture videos. As with other products in the Samsung Galaxy range, you can use the front and rear cameras simultaneously.
The front camera of 2MP is above average, and is equivalent to that of the best Android smartphones on the market. Video chats are relatively well filmed and little pixelated.
Here are some pictures that were taken with the 8 MP camera of the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 our colleague GSMArena :

Battery
Samsung has increased the capacity of the battery from 7,000 mAh for the first generation Galaxy Note 10.1 to 8,220 mAh, but the higher resolution and more powerful processor is felt, therefore the autonomy does not improve. On average, we achieved between 7.5 and 8.5 hours of use, alternating web browsing, 2 hours of HD streaming on YouTube, responding to e-mails, using social networks and on travailllant Word documents with the included Polaris Office software 5.
The battery takes hours to load, like that of the Nexus 10 tablet built by Samsung, so get ready to charge at night when it is almost empty.
Competition
Among Android tablets, the Google Nexus 10 has an identical resolution and a less powerful Exynos processor, but still enough to be a competitive match for the Galaxy Tab 10.1 in 2014. It is slightly cheaper and offers a pure Android experience for those who hate overlays manufacturers such as Touchwiz. However, you lose the S Pen, the microSD slot and successfully operate the USB host mass storage and more work on the Nexus 10.
If you want to know the price of the Nexus 10, we invite you to take a look at the table below:

Sony Tablet Tablet Xperia Z is also a competitor and can boast of being thinner. It also has the USB host and a microSD port and the IR Blaster Infrared technology and AV Remote. The screen resolution is lower with 1920 x 1200, but it is still a full HD high quality. The choice depends on your preference in terms of brand, taste in user interface terms (Sony or Touchwiz interface) and the need or not S pen.
Here are the best stores that offer the Sony Xperia Z Tablet best price:
Conclusion
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is a tablet Edition 2014 you must decide whether you want a tablet equipped with Android mobile operating system rather than Windows tablet. In fact it is one of the best Android tablet, but you pay the price because it is also more expensive. In return, you will have a beautiful display of 2560 x 1600 with beautiful colors and perfect clarity (yes, I said ... perfect), the S Pen for drawing and writing, the excellent Multi Window for Samsung multitasking, good support S Pen by non Samsung applications, a fast processor, a storage that you can expand and USB host. The rear camera takes decent pictures and videos and has nice features like LED flash and HDR.

Samsung ready to begin mass production of batteries curved

Such as LG, Samsung also preparing curved to support its smartphones curved batteries. Mass production would begin shortly.
What meets the eyes when the Galaxy Round Samsung, even before its light curve is its resemblance to the Galaxy Note 3. Moreover, this similarity is also found in the bowels of Bestio except for the battery. Instead of the model of the original 3200 mAh model, its rounded variant to settle for 2800 mAh. A restiction probably due to the flatness and rigidity of the component, preventing it to occupy the entire space. In comparison, the battery of the LG G Flex, curved to follow its rounded lines, has a beautiful capacity 3500 mAh.
Samsung Galaxy Round
Of course, Samsung is not really the type to be left behind. ZDNet Korea also reported that it would soon be ready to produce its first curved battery in mass quantities. The information was confirmed by Sang Jin Park, head of Samsung SDI. Memory, Samsung SDI is specialized in the manufacture of components, including screens and batteries in particular branch.
As usual, it is likely that Samsung will sell its curved to other manufacturers batteries. Finally, if manufacturers other than him and LG want to enter the smartphone segment curved ...

Samsung sells more smartphones than Apple, Nokia and BlackBerry, meeting

Samsung confirms its position as the leading seller of smartphones worldwide, ahead of its competitors. Indeed, it would sell more smartphones than Apple, Nokia and BlackBerry together.
If times are tough for most manufacturers, this is obviously not the case for Samsung. Korean recently announced that it has sold over 40 million units of its Galaxy S4 out there six months, which were added yesterday 5 million Galaxy Note 3 shipped in the month following its launch. Add to that its input terminals and mid-range continue to sell like hotcakes.Place top smartphone vendor rightful so no surprises. But it does not stop there.
Based on a study by ABI Research, our colleagues' s Android Central reported that Samsung sell more smartphones than Apple, Nokia and BlackBerry together. Sales represent at least 35% of smartphone sales in the third quarter 2013. The benefits are obviously going to Samsung, but also with the Google Android operating system now would capture 80% of the OS market.
Samsung sales compared to Apple, Nokia and BlackBerry
Samsung and Google have each brought to the top. Then difficult to imagine such a duo disappear in the future. However, the rumors seem to agree on the path to independence Korean who will soon launch its Tizen platform could eventually get rid of Android .

Samsung W2014: a clamshell smartphone Snapdragon under 800

Samsung announces the W2014, a new clamshell smartphone the best equipped. It will be marketed by China Telecom operator, probably at a very high price.
Samsung and China Telecom operators seem to have great difficulty in drawing a line on the flip phones. This format disappeared even at home, always worthy of the best equipment available, judging by the Samsung W2014 they just presented. A decidedly high-end smartphone expected to be greater than $ 1,500 price. Suffice to say that the two friends are not afraid of anything, but it's for a good cause. Indeed, the announcement was made as part of their annual charity concert "Heart Of The World."
In addition to its two screens 3.7 inches WVGA resolution smaller, the Samsung W2014 has been equipped with the famous 800 Qualcomm Snapdragon 2.3 GHz, 2 GB RAM and 32 GB of internal memory, expandable via microSD. A 13 megapixel camera has also been dragged there, and a 2 megapixel webcam. Note that the device is dual-SIM and runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. It is powered by a 1900 mAh battery and weighs some 173 grams. A nice toy anyway, to discover photos at our colleague PCPOP ...

Samsung Redwood: Exploring Tizen 2.2, video

Tizen is a new appearance on the canvas. It is this time a video of grip Samsung Redwood (Z9005) running version 2.2 of the OS.
In the month of February, Samsung took advantage of the Mobile World Congress to announce the arrival of the first Tizen smartphones before the end of the year.We are now the beginning of November and still no one has been sold, nor officially announced to the public. For their part, developers have already familiarized themselves with the OS, thanks to the famous Redwood. For the record, this is a development platform that we have already seen several times in the past, and now find ourselves in the grip of video made by our colleagues Tizen Experts below .
The model is numbered Z9005 and runs Tizen 2.2. Recall that version 3.0 is currently in development and the interface could therefore know many changes before its launch. Particularly at the status bar. The video, nearly 10 minutes long, however, gives us a good overview of the previous version since it discovers and Notification Center Settings menu in detail, in addition to the camera application a little shorter. We obviously recognize some similarities with Samsung's TouchWiz overlay, but also with the Intel MeeGo also involved in the project platform. A rather promising OS in fact.

Samsung Galaxy S3 firmware Android 4.3 Jelly Bean leak

A first version of "test" of a firmware, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean for Galaxy S3 has just made its appearance on the canvas. The more adventurous can install it manually, until the official version.
In addition to its Galaxy Note 2, Samsung has also promised to update its Galaxy S3 to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean before the end of the year. And as for phablette, a first version of the firmware is now available online through our colleague SamMobile . The more impatient, and a little bit hackers can then go there and follow the installation instructions in order to taste the penultimate version of Android - Android 4.4 with KitKat is back Friday with the Nexus 5- in advance.
Remember that it is not the official update but a test version from Samsung, compiled as of October 26. It is possible to find some bugs while all should be stable enough to follow you every day. The radius of the changes already, closer to that of newer terminals manufacturer UI.However, the various widgets Samsung have retained their original design. Samsung Knox has, meanwhile, not yet been integrated into the firmware.
Many changes are still expected by the deployment of the update, but it's a good start. Samsung this time seems on track to meet its timetable.
